Stephen McConnell took degrees in Music at Cardiff and Goldsmiths before graduating with a first-class BA in English from Birkbeck College University of London. After a PGCE at Sidney Sussex College Cambridge, he went into teaching working in state and independent schools for twenty years before becoming a tutor in 2007. 

Stephen has a detailed knowledge of the English curriculum and qualifications having been an examiner and team leader for AQA, IB and, most extensively, OCR and Cambridge International Examinations. As a tutor, he has worked with pupils of a wide range of ages and abilities, nationally and internationally. He aims to educate and go beyond the syllabus, taking pride in students’ growth and intellectual development.
